When a youth enters foster care, they are often removed from their home with little or no notice. Too often, they carry their belongings in a trash bag. That single detail sends a message that no youth should ever receive: that they don’t matter.
At Suitcases of Hope, we believe no youth should have to carry their belongings this way. Through compassion and community partnership, we provide luggage filled with essential items. We replace that message with one that says: you are seen, you are valued, and you deserve more.
Suitcases of Hope was created from lived experience and a simple belief that every youth deserves dignity. What may seem like a small act can make a lasting difference in how a young person sees themselves.

Partnerships
We organize community drives where individuals, schools, and businesses can donate new or gently used luggage. Every donation collected goes directly to a youth in the foster care system.
Each bag is filled with age appropriate essentials, including toiletries and comfort items. Youth arrive at their new placement with not just a bag, but the basics they need to feel at home.
Through partnerships with child welfare agencies and organizations, we ensure youth are supported with dignity during the most critical moments of transition.
